Caroline Pardue’s outstanding high school golf journey in Tennessee reached new heights as she claimed her second TSSAA state title in three years. The Providence Christian senior, committed to MTSU, emerged victorious in the Division II-A championship with a brilliant 4-under 136 (64-72). However, the real story of the day was Providence Christian Academy (PCA) making history by achieving the lowest girls team score ever recorded in the state, finishing at an impressive 1-under 279 (131-148) and surpassing the previous record set by Baylor in 2006.

This win is the program’s third consecutive championship, emphasizing their sustained excellence in the sport.

What makes this victory even more remarkable is that PCA managed to secure the title without their star player, Isabella Johnson, on the final day of the competition. Despite falling ill, Johnson had showcased incredible resilience on the first day, shooting a remarkable 3-under 67. PCA’s coach, Philip Pettitt, shared the challenging journey Johnson faced, saying, “She got really sick… She played amazing (Wednesday) and shot 3 under par. And she could barely walk, she was so weak.”

Filling the void left by Johnson, teammate Reagan Warren, the team’s No. 3 player, posted a 6-over 76 in the final round, playing a crucial role in securing the championship. Pettitt praised Warren’s ability to handle the pressure, noting, “She knew before she teed off, her hole was going to count. She was nervous, but she embraced it. I couldn’t be more proud of Reagan.”

PCA’s record-breaking feat was sealed on the final hole when Warren sunk a spectacular 30-foot putt for birdie, marking a historic moment in Tennessee high school golf.

In the Class A girls’ championship, Summertown secured their sixth consecutive TSSAA state title with a 7-over 287 (141-146), while Kingston finished second with 292 and South Greene took third place with 324. Karlie Campbell, after finishing as the runner-up for four years, clinched her first individual championship with a superb 5-under 135 (68-67), winning by a commanding 10 strokes over Kingston’s Brylee Crouse.
